Our rich butter dough is made with wheat flour, fresh creamed butter, milk and sugar. Toasted almonds and fresh ground spices with cardamom and lemon zest add a wonderful flavor to the dough. Before being added to the dough, orange and lemon citron (imported from Switzerland) are combined with dried cranberries and currants and then soaked in brandy for 24 hours. After the Stollen has been baked it is coated with butter, rolled in lemon-vanilla sugar, and dusted with powdered sugar.
